Short and clear: this is how we work. Your personal quote always takes precedence.
1. Scope
Kambi Cargo (owner Mami Kambi, Munich) organises the sea transport of full containers from Germany to Africa as a freight forwarder. These shipping terms apply, supplemented by the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions (ADSp 2017).
2. Quote
Every quote is individual and valid until the stated date. It is based on the shipping lines’ current rates. If these change before the firm booking, you receive a new quote.
3. Order and payment
You place the order by email, quoting the quote number. You pay 100% of the price in advance by bank transfer. We make the firm booking only after payment has been received.
4. Dates
Departure and arrival times come from the shipping line and may change. Dates are only binding once we confirm them in writing. We are not liable for delays caused by shipping lines, ports, weather or authorities.
5. Your obligations as sender
You give complete and true information about content, value and weight. You don’t pack dangerous or prohibited goods without declaring them. You send all documents no later than 7 days before departure. You load the container yourself and secure the cargo. Costs caused by wrong or missing information are borne by you.
6. Loading time and demurrage
Usually about 2 hours of loading time are included. Longer waiting times, demurrage and storage are charged at actual cost. Sundays and public holidays count towards demurrage.
7. Space at the loading address
You make sure the truck and container can stop and stand safely at the loading address. If a no-parking zone or a city permit is needed, you apply and pay for it. Parking fees, fines, towing or extra waiting time because the truck cannot stop are at your cost.
8. Customs service
On request, we file the export declaration with German customs for €150 per container (final price). For this we need your signed customs power of attorney. The customs service covers only the export from Germany and does not include tax advice.
9. Destination country
We provide no services in the destination country. Import clearance, import duties, taxes, port charges, unloading and collection are handled and paid by the receiver. If the container is not collected in time, the receiver or sender bears the resulting costs.
10. Cancellation
You can cancel free of charge before the firm booking. After that, we pass on the fees of the shipping line and other parties. Amounts already paid are refunded minus these costs.
11. Liability and insurance
We are liable under ADSp 2017; liability is limited in amount. Shipping lines’ liability is also limited. We recommend cargo insurance. It is only included if we expressly agree on it.
12. Final provisions
German law applies. Place of jurisdiction is Munich, where legally permitted.
